Eat a balanced diet with plenty of high-fiber foods such as fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains and nuts.  Reduce consumption of high-calorie nutrient-poor foods and beverages.  Eat fish, especially oily fish (salmon, trout & mackerel) at least twice a week.

Every part of your body, including your immune system, functions better when protected from environmental assaults and bolstered by healthy-living strategies such as these: don't smoke, eat a diet full of fruits, vegetables and whole grains, and low in saturated fat, exercise regularly and maintain a healthy weight.

Choose nutrient-desnse foods.  To eat well, it's best to choose a mix of nutrient-dense foods every day.  Nutrient-dense foods are foods that have a lot of nutrients but relatively few calories.  Look for foods that contain vitamins, minerals, complex carbohydrates, lean protein & healthy fats.
